Fans of the streaming service Google Play Music may soon want to hold a moment of silence. Google has announced that the app will be shut down and replaced by the YouTube Music app, which has been available for a few years.
If youre a Google Play Music user, it’s easy to move your files, playlists, and other data to the new service, and maintain your paid subscription if you have one. You can also download your files if you want to take them elsewhere. But in any case, you need take action soon.
Users will lose access to Google Play Music permanently “between October and the end of this year,” according to an email sent to subscribers. Right now you can still use both services, and Google promises to notify users before the app shuts down for good.

- For a lot of users, restarting the app and Play Store seems to have worked. First go to Applications in the Settings menu and scroll down to Google Play Store. Then tap on Force Stop. Then tap on Storage and tap on Clear Cache and then Clear Data. On some devices, you may find the latter in the Storage and USB section the Settings menu. Open the Google Play Store after these steps and try the payment again.

Problem #3 Tracks Missing On Phone But Available On Web Player
Some users have found that tracks that have been downloaded on the web player dont show up on their smartphones.
Potential solutions:
- There is a simple workaround to fix this. In the Settings menu, go to Apps or Application Manager, search for Google Play Music. Then tap on Storage and then press Clear Cache. On some devices, you may find this under the Storage and USB section in the Settings menu. Restart the device, then open the Play Music app and all your music should now be available.

Clear Cache From Settings
Step 1: Open Settings on your phone and go to Apps & notifications or Apps.
Step 2: Under All apps, tap on Google Play Music.
Step 3: Tap on Storage followed by Clear cache. Restart the phone and check if you can see the songs. If they arent available, tap on Clear data or storage.
Note: Clearing cache or data will not delete your songs from the Play Music app.

But the big bonus for those who chose to upload their personal music to Google Play Music is that these tracks can be migrated directly from one service to the other, with no downloading or re-uploading needed.
