What Has Olivia Rodrigo Said About Her Future On Hsmtmts

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series | Official Trailer | Disney

Speaking with the Guardian in May, Olivia refused to discuss her relationship with Disney. When asked if she is looked after by them, she said: “Oh, ho ho ho, these are hot topics” and then explained that she doesn’t want to “get foot in mouth”. Olivia also revealed that she is “committed to HSM for two more years” but wants to now “focus on music”.

She said: “I think its really hard to split time between the two and there are very few artists who do that efficiently, because acting is based on being a good liar and presenting a version of yourself thats believable, and being a songwriter is the complete opposite. Its like, here are all of my deepest, darkest secrets and I want you to know me so personally.”

Based on what Olivia’s said, it looks like she is eager to leave HSMTMTS but she is contractually obligated to work on the show for at least one more season. However, taking Tim’s recent comments into account, it’s possible that Olivia has renegotiated her contract to leave the show earlier or arranged to only appear in a few episodes of season 3.

We will likely have to wait until HSMTMTS season 3 drops to learn exactly how much Olivia is in the seaon and what her future in the show is.

‘high School Musical’ Star Loved Filming At ‘bachelor’ House

High School Musical star Joshua Bassett says he wrote his own song for the shows holiday special.

Its called The Perfect Gift and plays a big part in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, streaming on Disney+.

Tim Federle, the showrunner, gave me a call right before we started filming, Bassett, 19, tells The Post. He said, We have this spot for Ricky and he sings this song and I really would like it if you could actually write it yourself. And he kind of gave the premise.

Essentially its a Christmas song and the idea is that Ricky doesnt have a lot of money and theres not much that he can get . So he does the next best thing he can do and thats write her a song.

Inspired by the High School Musical hit Disney movie franchise, the series which is currently filming its second season follows teens at East High, including skateboarder Ricky and jock E.J. as they put on a stage rendition of High School Musical: The Musical. The 45-minute special also features cast members Olivia Rodrigo , Kate Reinders, Dara Renee, Larry Saperstein and more.

Each cast member performs a rendition of festive ballads such as Feliz Navidad, Hanukkah, O Hanukkah and Last Christmas. Between songs, they open up about their own personal lives and holiday traditions and New Years resolutions.

The cool thing is that people who have seen the show are going to get to know the cast a little better, as we play ourselves and not our characters, says Bassett.

    Songs And Lyrical Content

The song “I Think I Kinda, You Know” details the relationship between characters Nini and Ricky. Rodrigo elaborated, “it was the song that Nini played for Ricky before they broke up.” “Wondering” is a piano duet performed in-series by Nini and Ashlyn, written to potentially be included in their version of the musical. The lyrics relate to Nini’s romantic involvement with Ricky and E.J. “Born to Be Brave” is described an “empowering” track resembling “We’re All in This Together” from the original film. “A Billion Sorrys” is a song written by E.J. in the series as an apology to Nini for stealing her phone and reading her messages.

We also know that this season’s musical of choice will be Frozen, following on from their performances of High School Musical in season one, and Beauty and The Beast in season two.

As a result of the new location, it could mean that some fan favourites won’t be making an appearance as they’ll simply decide not to go.

“I think they were ,” show creator Tim Federle told Hollywood Life. “I think things are open-ended actually for a number of characters just because you want the maximum flexibility going forward.

“Look, I have so much respect for Olivia as a songwriter and as a human and what her own dreams are. I love High School Musical with Olivia. I think Olivia is a massive part of our success, but I think season three is sort of a TBD in terms of where Ninis journey would go.”

“Choosing the musical for the show is hard because there are so many possibilities,” Federle told Hollywood Life. “I think at the end of the day, the music is a really cool storytelling component of the show, but I really think its about the character dynamics. It’s like Gina and Ricky, Nini and Ricky, and it’s Big Red and Ashlyn that I think the audience really tunes in for. That’s a big decision we weigh in heavily when choosing the next show.”
