Hit Me With Your Best Shot

Striving to be saviors of the galaxy is tough. Youre faced with all kinds of dangers physically, mentally, and emotionally. Star-Lords Huddle Up is meant to get the team focused on the task at hand, and there are few songs better suited to do just that than Hit Me With Your Best Shot.

Pat Benatars hit single from 1980 embodies the message of withstanding anything thrown at you. Not only did the Guardians of the Galaxy battle against the rapidly spreading Church of Truth, but they also faced their own inner fears. This song is a true testament to the personal struggles each member had to endure to emerge as heroes.

Everybody Have Fun Tonight

Yes, the Guardians of the Galaxy are heroes throughout space, but unlike the Avengers on Earth, they like to have fun. Wang Chungs single Everybody Have Fun Tonight could be the theme song for Star-Lord and the guardians. The song is all about having fun, and while Peter Quill does learn a bit about responsibility and growing up during the game, the sentiment of the song rings true.

The song was released in 1986 and reached as high as number two on the Billboard Hot 100 list, but did hit the top spot in Canada. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Wang Chung remixed the song to spread the message of everybody staying safe tonight.

What Is Streamer Mode Music

Soundtrack

One feature that has started to become more prevalent in recent years, especially in games with licensed music, is a special streamer mode.

This is because those streaming the game as is with all of the classic songs will be hit with copyright strikes just for it playing in the game.

As a result, Eidos-Montreal made things easier for those looking to stream the game with a special Streamer Mode.

This can be accessed from the setting menu of the game at the start and changes all of the licensed music in the game to copyright-free music that you can have playing in the game without any worry for copyright strikes.

Never Gonna Give You Up

While Rick Astleys hit single from his debut album is certainly a banger, Never Gonna Give You Up exploded with popularity through an Internet troll method called rickrolling. Rickrolling is the act of including misleading links that would redirect people to something they werent searching for, which in most cases happened to be this song. Astley actually participated in his own rickrolling for marketing promotion of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

Recently, Never Gonna Give You Up reached over one billion views on YouTube, much to the credit of this online trend. But again, Astleys song is a certified hit, despite rickrolling. Never Gonna Give You Up was a best-selling single during its debut year of 1987 and reached a number-one status in the United Kingdom.

Cherry Bomb The Runaways

Cherry Bomb is about a troublemaking young woman who is promiscuous and stresses her parents out. This song wasnt too popular, although it did get some attention since the lead singer was a teen at the time of this songs release. In Guardians of the Galaxy, this song plays during a montage of the Guardians preparing to handle a destructive stone.

The Guardians Of The Galaxy Music Helps To Tell Peter Quills Story

Director James Gunn chose the songs for Guardians of the Galaxy in part because they offer insight into Peter Quills past and his current music-loving personality. For instance, sometimes upbeat songs feature in dramatic scenes.

The songs are a bit more ironic in those instances, but could also be seen as the underlying positivity of Meredith Quill that gets Peter through these situations, Gunn told Vulture.

In fact, Gunn sees strong symbolism in Quills mixtape. The tape is really the character of Quills mother, Gunn told Rolling Stone. The Walkman and the compilation tape inside of it is the heart of the film.

The Guardians Of The Galaxy Soundtrack Features Music From The 60s And 70s

They are Groot. The Guardians of the Galaxy heroes make up a pretty unique family. Their unofficial leader is Peter Quill, a person from Earth with a love for his mother and music. When hes abducted from Earth as a boy right after his mom died, he still has his Walkman and his Awesome Mix tape a gift from his mom. And that music features prominently in the film.

The Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack includes popular songs from the 1960s and 1970s. These are Quills mothers favorite songs, passed down to him before she died. They include Come and Get Your Love by Redbone, Hooked on a Feeling by Blue Swede, Moonage Daydream by David Bowie, Cherry Bomb by The Runaways, and O-o-h Child by Five Stairsteps.

Aint No Mountain High Enough Marvin Gaye And Tammi Terrell

This is one of those perfect duet songs to use when you need to let someone know youll always be there for them. This song plays at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy when Peter opens a mixtape his mother left for him many years ago before she passed away. The song says, if you need me, call me, no matter where you are, and the limited access to music Peter has is his way of feeling close to his mother.

New Tunes For A New Guardians Of The Galaxy Experience

In addition to being the second Guardians of the Galaxy-themed attraction at a Disney Park, Cosmic Rewind is also the second to boast its own “Awesome Mix.”

Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission – BREAKOUT! which debuted at Disney California Adventure in Disneyland in 2017, features songs such as Pat Benatar’s “Hit Me With Your Best Shot,” Parliament’s “Give Up The Funk,” and “I Want You Back” by The Jackson 5.

The fact that Cosmic Rewind‘s soundtrack didn’t duplicate Mission: BREAKOUT!‘s technically means there are four “Awesome Mix” soundtracks for Guardians fans to both experience and appreciate.

Now, in addition to this news, Disney has also revealed that Cosmic Rewind is set within the Wonders of Xandar pavilion at the EPCOT theme park where the villain is the Celestial Eson. While Marvel fans have seen Eson and other Celestials in MCU films, it’s worth noting that Cosmic Rewind – and all Marvel-inspired Disney Park attractions – are set within their own universe.

But thankfully, that universe and its Peter Quill also love vintage pop songs. And, come May 27, MCU fans will be able to experience what it’s like saving the galaxy alongside the Guardians to the tunes of a completely unique “Awesome Mix.”

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind opens at Walt Disney World on May 27 Thor: Love and Thunder debuts in theaters on July 8.
