I Switched From Spotify To Apple Music For 1 Month Heres What Happened

About a month ago, I decided to leave Spotify and start using Apple Music. Here’s what happened and why I’m sticking with Apple Music for good.

After years and years of being a loyal Spotify user, this writer recently ditched the service and migrated to one of its fiercest competitors Apple Music. That’s a decision that didn’t come lightly. Spotify has access to almost every song imaginable, tons of exclusive playlists to discover new favorites, and offers some of the best personalization features compared to any of its competitors. Pair that with a functional app and availability on virtually every smart device, and there’s little reason to outright hate Spotify.

But that’s not to say the experience is perfect. Throughout those years of using Spotify day after day, certain things have become regular annoyances. Take podcasts, for example. In recent years, Spotify’s pushed to be just as big a player in the podcast space as it is for music. That’s resulted in podcasts becoming increasingly prevalent when using the app. As someone that exclusively uses Spotify for music, it makes the whole thing feel bloated, messy, and unorganized. Similarly, the business side of Spotify’s podcast operations hasn’t always been fun to watch. Whether it’s making podcasts exclusive to its app or paying $100 million for a show whose host creates distrust around life-saving vaccines, giving money to a company like that doesn’t always feel the best.

Review The Playlist’s Transfer Progress

SongShift will then begin matching the songs from your playlist on Spotify. Depending on how many songs the playlist has, this could take anywhere between a few seconds or around a minute. After the playlist is matched, you can tap on it to check if the songs are correctly matched.

If there is a failed match, you can tap on “Ignore” to erase the song from the playlist. There’s also a “Re-Match” option, but it’s only available on the pro version. If a song is incorrectly matched, tap on the edit icon to either remove the song from the playlist or search for it . When you’re finished reviewing the songs, tap on “Confirm Matches” to finish the transfer process.

When i deleted all songs from apple music, its still switch to apple music without playing any songs.

How can i get rid of this and use my airpods with spotify?

Hey! Welcome to the Spotify Community

One thing you can do, only if you don’t use apple music, is removing the apple music app. That makes your airpods automatically go to spotify as default music player.

Hey, thanks for your help, but this didnt completely solved my problem.

So i deleted my Apple music app.

Now when i take Airpods out my Spotify music pause – like it should.

But when i put them back in, music is still paused and only way to resume my Spotify music is to do it manually on my iphone or apple watch.

I belive there has to be better solution. I hope im not wrong, because this would kinda force me to cancel spotify and go back to Apple music – since i want to keep using my Airpods.

Why Transfer From Apple Music To Spotify

Do you dislike Apple Music and would like to switch to Spotify? Spotify is an excellent alternative to Apple Music. Spotify is the most used streaming service, and for a good reason.

Spotify boasts an extensive music library, with over 60 million tracks at present. This should make it easy to find the songs youâve listened to via Apple Music.

This is not all. Spotifyâs algorithm is great for finding new music. It will recommend tracks based on your listening preferences. This Spotify algorithm is very effective, letâs say.

The sound quality is even better than Apple Music. Apple Music has a bit rate of 256, while Spotify uses 320kbps for premium users.

    Excellent Developer And App

I bought the pro version so that I could transfer my Deezer playlists to Apple Music. Initially it only showed 25 of my playlists whereas I have over 100. So I sent a message to the developer and was not really expecting any response. However I received a response in less than 24 hours together with a guarantee that an update would be put through to fix this error within 24 hours. This developer updated the app the next day and I have now managed to transfer all my playlists without any problems. The app worked perfectly and the customer service from the developer was outstanding. It is so rare to get such good service and quick responses nowadays. I recommend anyone who wants to transfer playlists to use this app and spend the price of a beer on buying the pro version.

Use An App From An Iphone Or Ipad

Apple Music & Spotify: How to transfer your playlists! (2019)

If youre already using an iOS device and want to transfer things that way, there are apps for that. SongShift is probably the most prominent, and its fairly easy to manage. You can try it out as a guest instead of setting up an account, but its free to use unless you buy into a Pro account, which quickens the process and gives you other perks.

When you select the playlists, albums, or songs you want to move over, you will see everything that matches, as well as songs that dont. You can try rematching those songs or ignore them so that they dont transfer over the wrong song . Under the free tier, transfer times are longer than under a Pro subscription, so keep that in mind.

Another iOS app doing the same thing is Switcheroo Transfer. Its entirely free to use, though more limited in scope as far as the services it supports. The user interface is also more streamlined and basic. It enables you to sign in to your Spotify account, select the playlists you want, and move them over to Apple Music. Again, you will need an active Apple Music subscription to get this working, and youre also limited to only transferring playlists. Albums and songs dont appear on their own.

Switcheroo Transfer is also available on Android, but beware of the SongShift app for Android, which appears to be a shady imposter from a different developer.

The switch may be something you’re minded to do if you were a reluctant Apple Music user who jumped across to iOS to take advantage of things like offline listening on your Apple Watch. To switch your playlists back from Spotify to Apple Music, simply follow the above steps with the music streaming services swapped around and you’ll get the same desired results in reverse. Just as fast and just as simple.
