Question: Q: Family Sharing Separate Music Libraries

I have a fairly simple request about Family Sharing but can’t seem to find a simple solution.
My wife and I share a Mac. I bought an Apple Music Family subscription and would like us to have separate libraries and playlists as our tastes are very different. We mainly play music using our mobile devices.
I tried setting up a separate music library on my wife’s Mac account using her Apple ID. Our family sharing subscription is linked to the bank card associated with my Apple ID so she wasn’t able to download any music in her name.
Presumably the desire to have separate music libraries for linked family members must be a common one but I’ve trawled the internet and can’t find a simple explanation of how to achieve it.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Each family member will have their own personal account, and the family plan offers other benefits, too.
According to Apple, you can share what you want, when you want or not at all. When it comes to Apple Music, specifically, that includes iTunes purchases..
How Do I Share Music With My Family
There are a couple of different ways: sharing purchased content on iTunes, sharing playlists, and Home Sharing.
You can share a playlist of any music in your iCloud Music Library by tapping the Share button when viewing a playlist, then sending the link to your family member.
And while Home Sharing no longer works on iOS, you can use it on your Macs to share files between your two computers.

Family Sharing Not Working In Apple Music Fixed
If Family Sharing option turns out to be a family mayhem and the option is not functioning properly, you need to know what to do with it. Sometimes, the family sharing steps do not work at all. In such a situation, there are certain important things that you need to check. Given below are some of the solutions to the problem of Apple Music family sharing not working:
Solution 1: In case your family members are signed up for Apple Music free trial, this feature might not work. So, you need to check whether any of the five members are on a free trial. You need to wait until the free trial period is over. After than you will be able to sign them up as a part of the family plan.
Solution 2: You need to make sure that the family members are using one unique account for the iCloud, iTunes, and Apple Music Library. This does not mean family members should use one single ID to login to all the devices. Rather, it means that each of them should sign in using one unique ID.
Solution 3: If you are unable to share the contents with your family, try logging out of Apple Music and try logging in again. This should help to troubleshoot the problem.
Choosing Which Features To Share
Once you have added family members, you should choose which features you want to share. The current options are as follows:
Purchase Sharing: Media you buy on iTunes, Books, and most App Store purchases
iCloud Storage: If you have the 200GB or 2TB storage plan, you can share it with your family.
Location Sharing: Family members share location or the location of their devices. You can always just share location to an individual in the Find My app.
Screen Time: If you have a Child account in your family, you can set screen limits and view reports for it.
Apple Music: You need a family plan on Apple Music to share with your family .
TV Channels: If you through the TV app you can share it with your whole family at no cost. This includes Apple TV+, which is technically a Channel.
Apple Arcade: Apples gaming subscription service includes Family Sharing at no cost.
Apple News+: If you have the premium magazine and newspaper subscription in the News app, you can share it with your family at no cost.
Purchase Sharing comes with a big caveat, but theres little reason not to turn on most of the other sharing options.
There are three important things to mention about these sharing options.
Second, when you share iCloud storage, your family members cannot see each others content stored in the cloud. Its as if you each have your own separate iCloud storage the data you all use just counts against the same 200GB or 2TB limit.
