    How To Set Up And Use Alexa Cast

    Setting up and using Alexa Cast is a breeze. First, you will need to download the Amazon Music app from the App Store or , then:

    • Log in to your Amazon account.
    • Find a song or playlist you want to listen to and select it to begin playing.
    • Swipe up from the music preview to reveal all of the music controls.
    • Tap the button in the lower right of the play controls window .
    • In that menu, select an Alexa speaker or a Multi-Room Music group.

    The music should begin playing through the selected speaker or group, which also means you will also be able to control playback using your voice with commands like “Alexa, next song,” or “Alexa, volume down.”

    If you want to stop playing through the selected speaker or play music through your phone again, open Amazon Music once more, open music controls, tap the Alexa Cast icon, and select Disconnect next to the currently selected speaker.

    Although its clear that Echo and iTunes have native support for one another and work well hand in hand, there are other alternative routes you can take. If youre looking to stream from one platform to a device designed for another there are third-party services that might also help.

    Such alternatives are called media servers and are offered by Drobo, Plex, Seagate, and others. You can use them to store your iTunes files and then link the server to your Alexa-enabled speakers and use voice commands to access and manipulate your playlist.

    This is an interesting option if you want to keep your iTunes files and cancel your iTunes subscription at the same time. Plus, it can be a great alternative if you dont want to always be limited to using a computer or laptop. But it will also involve some additional costs.
