How to log into iTunes (Music) on Mac
To access a shared iTunes or Music library on a Mac, open the Music app and sign in using your Apple ID. Then click Library in the left sidebar and select a shared library from the drop-down menu.
- Open the Music or iTunes app on your Mac.
- Then click Account in the menu bar.
- Next, click Sign In.
- Then enter your Apple ID and password.
- Next, click Library in the left sidebar of the app.
- Then select the shared library you want to access. It might take a minute to load your shared library, depending on how large it is.
- Under the General tab, you can view and change your name.
- At the Contact tab, you can add or remove contact information, set up or change your date of birth, and choose the emails you want to receive from Apple.
- At the Security tab, you can change your password and set up two-factor authentication.
- At the Devices tab, you can see all the devices registered with your Apple ID, view the details on each one, and remove any devices you no longer use.
- At the Payment tab, you can view and change your payment method and shipping address.
- Turn on Keychain if you want to store your encrypted passwords and credit card information using iCloud to access that data on your approved devices.
- Turn on Find My iPhone to find, lock, or erase a lost or stolen iPhone.
- Turn on iCloud Backup to automatically back up key data and settings when your iPhone is connected to power.
- Turn on Look Me Up to give apps permission to look you up through your Apple ID.
- Turn on to share your location with family and friends.
- Tap on Mail to view or change your iCloud account information.
- Tap on the entry for iTunes & App Store on the Apple ID screen to edit these settings. You can enable or disable automatic downloads for certain content and control other options, such as cellular data, video autoplay, in-app ratings & reviews, and offloading unused apps.

How Many Different Family Members Can I Add To Apple Music
Theres a limit to how many different family members you can add to Apple Music. Only six people or, more specifically, six separate Apple ID profiles can share the same subscription plan.
Each member has to have their own Apple ID. Parents can set up an account for their kids if theyre under the age of 13.
However, thats not the only way to add them to the Family Sharing group. If they happen to have a Game Center account, you can use that instead. Heres how to add your child to Apple Music without an Apple ID:
1. Open Settings and tap on your name. If youre on your Mac, go to Apple Menu > System Preferences.
2. Select Family Sharing then Add Family Member. For Mac users, click the + Add button.
3. Type your childs username from Game Center.
4. Complete the steps from the onscreen instructions.
Force Quit Apple Music
Say you are unable to play songs on Apple Music or perhaps the app is freezing or generally malfunctioning, we recommend force-quitting the app as the first line of action. You can do this from the Macbook’s dock or the Activity Monitor.
If there’s a tiny dot beneath the Apple Music icon on the Dock, this means the app is still running in the background. To force-quit the app, simply tap the icon with two fingers and select Quit.
To force-quit Apple Music from the Activity Monitor, follow the steps below.
Step 1: Tap the search icon at the top-right corner of the menu bar to launch Spotlight search. Alternatively, Spotlight search can also be swiftly launched using the Command + Space bar keyboard shortcut.
Step 2: Next, type Activity Monitor into the Spotlight search bar and hit Return on your keyboard or simply double-click Activity Monitor from the result.
Step 3: Locate and select Apple Music or iTunes from the list of applications in the Activity Monitor’s CPU section. Next, tap the x icon at the top-left corner.
Step 4: Select Force Quit on the pop-up that appears on the screen.
That will close all Apple Music-related processes on your Mac. Now, launch Apple Music again and check if the app now works and plays songs correctly.

Use Home Sharing On A Mac
Now that Home Sharing has been enabled, youll want to start sharing your content in Apple Music.
Step 1: Make sure that any device that wants to access or share an Apple Music library is turned on, is not asleep and is running Apple Music.
Step 2: Open the Music app and sign in with your Apple ID .
Step 3: Click the down arrow next to Library in the left-hand sidebar.
Step 4: Youll see a list of libraries that have been shared with you. Click the one you want to access and youll see it loaded into Apple Music. Any playlists that have been created in the shared library will also be shown in the left-hand sidebar.
