Pair Your Echo Device With The Alexa App
In the Alexa app, tap Devices, the plus button in the top-right corner, and then Add Device.
You will be asked what kind of device you would like to set up. Since this is an Amazon Echo, choose the first option under All Devices. However, you can also set up another smart home device, such as a light, plug, switch, camera, lock, or security system.
Next, youll be asked to select the type of Echo device youre setting up, such as an Echo Dot, Echo Buds, Echo Auto, or Echo Frames. Depending on the device you select, the next screen may ask you to confirm which generation Echo device you’re setting up.
The app then takes you through the setup process. Make sure your Echo device is plugged in. Wait for its ring to turn orange and then tap Continue in the app. If the ring doesn’t turn orange, hold down the action button for around 15 seconds until it does.
Make Sure To Open The Alexa Application On Your Mobile Phone
To begin with the process, you need to open your Alexa application on your mobile phone. If you do not have the application installed, you can have it downloaded even if you are using an iOS device or an Android one. Head to the âSettingsâ button followed by âMusicâ.
The next thing you need to do is to select the âLink New Service â option that you will be seeing and choose âApple Musicâ from those service options listed. Afterward, you will be prompted to log in with your Apple username and password. Just provide the details needed and tick the âDoneâ button.
Stream From Your Phone Via Bluetooth
You can also stream music from your mobile device to your Echo via Bluetooth. With your phone or tablet nearby, say “Alexa, pair,” and your Echo goes into pairing mode.
Open the Bluetooth settings screen on your device and wait for the Echo to show up in the list of devices available for pairing. It should appear as Echo-XXX. Tap the name to connect your device with the Echo. Once the two devices are connected, Alexa will announce the connection.
To pair your mobile device with your Echo via the Alexa app, tap Devices > Echo & Alexa, then select the Echo device you want to pair with your phone or tablet. In the Connected Devices section, tap the entry to Pair Alexa Gadget.
Then open the Bluetooth settings screen on your mobile device and tap the name listed for your Echo. Your Echo is then connected.
Now when you open a music app on your phone or tablet, the audio will play through your Echo device. You can then control playback with your mobile device or by talking to Alexa.

Give Alexa Some Space
If you’re setting up multiple Alexa devices throughout your home, you typically want to put them far enough apart so the wrong device doesn’t respond when you try to interact with your device. Bluetooth’s range is limited, but it can still communicate from one room to the next.
In my case, I have one Echo in our living room, a second Echo in our bedroom, and a third Echo in my office. Those rooms are far enough apart that I can call Alexa, and the right device responds. However, there are advantages to having more than one Echo in the same room, particularly if you want to listen to music or TV audio.
If the devices are in close proximity, you can always change the Wake word to distinguish one from the other. Besides Alexa, other wake words to use to get your Echo’s attention are Amazon, Echo, Computer, and Ziggy.
Tip #: Make Use Of The Multi
With the Multi-Room Music feature, you can stream music around the house through multiple Alexa speakers.
All you need to do is to create a group and include selected devices into it. You can give your custom speaker group a name and have this ensemble spread your favorite notes all around the house.
The command for making use of this feature is Play on .

Why Wont Alexa Play Music From My Phone
One issue that could be causing the music to stop playing on the Amazon device is Wi-Fi connectivity. Wi-Fi congestion can be reduced by turning off any devices that are not in use.
