    All My Friends Are Here

Apple Music always felt like an empty party. Sure, I have many friends that use the streaming service, but Apple doesnt focus that much on friends playlists, what theyre listening to, and ways to engage with them, such as creating collaborative playlists.

The first thing I noticed was how many of my Facebook friends are on Spotify: more than 400. On Apple Music, I have around 20 friends, and thats only if I consider Eddy Cue a friend.

I of course didnt add all 400 of them. In fact, this also got me thinking about how personal listening to music is. I added only people I really care about, and I think its fun to know what theyre listening to while Im working on my Mac.

Transfer Spotify Playlist To Apple Music Hassle

Creating a playlist is one of the first things many new users of a music streaming platform try to accomplish. That is because it will make listening to songs a lot easier, although the task might still be challenging to do. Here are simple ways you can transfer your Spotify playlist to Apple Music from Spotify.

How To Switch Over From Spotify To Apple Music Its Easy

If you’re thinking about switching from Apple Music to Spotify , you don’t have to lose your playlists. Here’s how.

Apple Music and Spotify are the two most popular music streaming services by a long shot as both have tens of millions of paid subscribers. As for which service you use, it likely depends on which service you or your family have been using for years. That said, the two services have brought about some key changes in the past year or more, so much so that you might want to switch.

The biggest difference between the two streaming services is, as of July 2021, Apple Music allows you to listen to higher-quality music. It added a lossless tier at no extra cost that allows subscribers to listen to CD-quality and Hi-Res Lossless audio tracks. Spotify is launching its own lossless streaming service, Spotify Hifi, by the end of 2021, but it’s not here yet .

Another big reason why you’d switch to Apple Music is if you were planning on buying one of Apple’s smart speakers, either the recently discontinued HomePod or the new HomePod mini. Unlike other popular smart speakers , Apple’s smart speakers only respond to “Hey Siri” voice commands for music if you subscribe to Apple Music . If youre a Spotify subscriber, you can only ask Siri to play/pause, skip tracks and adjust the volume.

Use An App From An Iphone Or Ipad

If youre already using an iOS device and want to transfer things that way, there are apps for that. SongShift is probably the most prominent, and its fairly easy to manage. You can try it out as a guest instead of setting up an account, but its free to use unless you buy into a Pro account, which quickens the process and gives you other perks.

When you select the playlists, albums, or songs you want to move over, you will see everything that matches, as well as songs that dont. You can try rematching those songs or ignore them so that they dont transfer over the wrong song . Under the free tier, transfer times are longer than under a Pro subscription, so keep that in mind.

Another iOS app doing the same thing is Switcheroo Transfer. Its entirely free to use, though more limited in scope as far as the services it supports. The user interface is also more streamlined and basic. It enables you to sign in to your Spotify account, select the playlists you want, and move them over to Apple Music. Again, you will need an active Apple Music subscription to get this working, and youre also limited to only transferring playlists. Albums and songs dont appear on their own.

Switcheroo Transfer is also available on Android, but beware of the SongShift app for Android, which appears to be a shady imposter from a different developer.
