All the more reason to get them online as far in advance as possible!

However, in Hellotickets there are always very good prices to see the musical Hamilton and if you follow my recommendations you will find tickets that fit your budget depending on the area of the theater you choose.

How Do You Get The Soundtrack

You can buy the soundtrack on Amazon,iTunes, or listen to it on Spotify and YouTube. You can also buy a physical CD at a local music store like Amoeba music in Los Angeles. The show is music straight through and there are 46 songs on 2 CDs so, if you are irresponsible like myself, you will have lost the second half of the show almost immediately and know the first half a little too well. Sometimes it pays off to have a 6-year old laptop and a car with an actual CD player because I am able to listen to the soundtrack at all times of the day.

And Finally Is Hamilton Really As Amazing As Everyone Says It Is

Yes, yes it is. But, remember to manage your expectations! I no joke sat next to someone who had the flu, behind someone illegally recording the show, and had my souvenir cup stolen when I was taking pictures outside. BTW, you should totally get a cocktail with a souvenir cup! They are so cool. Sadly, I did let all of that get to me a little bit because I was trying to make this the moment of a lifetime. So as with everything in life, just relax, enjoy and know that even if your experience isnt perfect, the show is unbelievable and it can and will move you if you let it.

Who here reading this has seen Hamilton? Did you learn the music ahead of time or go in without a clue? Any other tips on how to prepare to see Hamilton? And for all of those of you out there, what was your favorite song?! Its funnyI was not into the rap songs as much until I saw the show and totally changed my tune . The rap songs esp. Cabinet Battle were the best part to me hands down.

When Should I Listen To The Soundtrack

I definitely could have done a better job preparing to see Hamilton. Basically, I waited until the 3 weeks before I went to New York to see Hamilton to listen to the soundtrack nonstop. This is absolutely the WRONG thing to do. In fact, I think the Hamilton soundtrack should be completely off limits for the entire month prior to your trip. So, when exactly should you be listening to the Hamilton soundtrack? If you want to learn every word to every song, go for it, but start 4-6 months before! If you only want to get a gist of what the show is about and listen to it all the way through a couple times, then start that about 2 months prior. I just so recommend taking a month-long breather from it, so you can be instantly reminded of the amazingness that is Hamilton when you see it live on stage for the first time. The soundtrack is so good, that you just dont want it to be too ingrained in your brain right before you see the show. You will end up comparing the live version to the soundtrack during the show and thats just straight up annoying. Plus, youll have plenty of time to listen when you spend your Friday and Saturday nights post-show driving around in the car blasting the Hamilton soundtrack instead of going out and socializing for the next 3 months. It may have been six months for me, but whos counting?

Hamilton Show How Long Is It

We want to make after show dinner reservations, i wondered how long the show was. i believe it starts at 7:30pm.

thank you so much!

It’s about 2 hours and 45 minutes with a 15 minute intermission. The show is really as good as advertised… enjoy!

We are sooo looking forward to it! I hear it is amazing.

We wanted to go to Girl and the Goat, however, i can’t get any reservations before the show, but i did for 10:15..so i think we must make it on time 🙂

If you make a 10:15 reservation, you’ll be watching the clock all thru the play. And then you have to make your way out of the packed theater and over to River West which will take some time. Don’t make yourself crazy. There are many excellent restaurants besides

You’ll not make a 10:15 reservation. The show gets out at 10:15 and everyone is exiting the theatre at the same time. It will take you another 15-20 minutes before you get a cab to start out for the restaurant let alone arrive. Find a pre-show restaurant.

Pick a different restaurant and go before the show. Girl and Goat is good but it’s also very hyped up because it’s run by a celebrity chef. There’s lots of good restaurants in

you won’t make a 10:15 reservation.

I found the second act gripped me more than the first act did, just as an aside.

Thanks everyone, I’ve cancelled the late reservation, I’m looking at other places. You are all right, i won’t make it and I don’t want to rush.

We, sir, weare the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir. Again, we truly thank you truly for seeing this show, this wonderful American story told by a diverse group of men and women of different colors, creeds and orientations.

What To Expect From The Musical Hamilton

Surely you know the names of George Washington or Thomas Jefferson but perhaps the name of Alexander Hamilton sounds a little less familiar to you.

This musical tells the story of Hamilton, an orphan from the Caribbean who after a series of circumstances ends up coming to the United States and becoming a very important figure in both the War of Independence and the first government of the country.

All this to the rhythm of rap! Because in the libretto there is hardly any dialogue that does not occur through rhyming songs. It is quite a show, where you have fun and also learn about history.

Winner of 11 Tony Awards, Hamilton’s musical is the biggest Broadway hit of the last decade and it has been said that it was what the new generations needed to get interested in musicals again. Do you want to discover it for yourself?

How To Apply This Idea To Your Work

London

Ive seen this process of create, test, improve and create play out over and over again in the entrepreneurial world. In fact, its what Eric Reis outlines in his book, The Lean Startup.

Another great example of this is Sara Blakey, the founder of Spanx. She started small with an incredibly simple prototype that she created by cutting the legs off a pair of old pantyhose. She tested this ultra-simple version with her friends and family, then improved it until it became a best-selling product that made her a billionaire.

Drew Houston, who co-founded Dropbox, also started simple. He didnt build a file-sharing software right from the beginning. He made a concept video and posted it online. That simple video resulted in a 70,000+ waitlist and many helpful suggestions on how to improve it. These early tests worked just like Lin Manuel Mirandas White House performance. They validated the idea and laid the groundwork to grow and improve.

Its not just entrepreneurs, but investors who believe in this method. I spoke with Carl Richard Fairbank, expert investor and entrepreneur, who explained, Successful entrepreneurs know they cant just spring their ideas on people out of the blue. They start with the rough version of an idea and share it, get feedback and make improvements from there, he said. Its an ongoing loop, but its also how you determine if there is an audience for your business in the first place.

Can I See Hamilton On Broadway With Children And Is It Recommended For Minors

Hamilton’s musical is intended for an adult audience because there is dialogue that contains some “strong language”.

However, the theater allows access to children 4 years and older who have their own ticket although the show is really more recommended for children 10 years and older who have a good level of English.

The Success Of Hamilton Kept Alexander Hamilton On The $10 Bill

In addition to all of Hamilton‘s other achievements, including 11 Tony Awards and a Pulitzer Prize , Hamilton also had an odd impact on our U.S. currency. As it turns out, in 2015, there were talks of removing Alexander Hamilton from the $10 bill. But as Hamilton‘s massive success continued to grow, drawing more interest in the politician’s life story, the government opted to keep the $10 bill with Hamilton’s face intact.

Instead, as The New York Times reported, Harriet Tubman would replace Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill. The new $10 bill was set to feature various heroines of the Women’s Suffrage Movement, including Susan B. Anthony, Alice Paul, Sojourner Truth, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucretia Mott, and the participants of the 1913 Woman Suffrage Procession. Later on, plans to change the $20 bill were changed.

The Making Of The Hamilton Musical

Now, is the Hamilton musical an accurate historical re-telling of Alexander Hamiltons life? Yesbut not entirely.

Talking to The Atlantic back when Hamilton premiered, Lin-Manuel Miranda was quoted saying, I felt an enormous responsibility to be as historically accurate as possible, while still telling the most dramatic story possibleWhen I did part from the historical record or take dramatic license, I made sure I was able to defend it to Ron, because I knew that I was going to have to defend it in the real world. None of those choices are made lightly.

Since its premiere in 2015, Lin-Manuel Mirandas Hamilton musical has catapulted into arguably the greatest Broadway show to date. To say the musical is a sensation would be an understatement.

In an impressive feat that was well-worth a MacArthur genius grant, the Hamilton musical is the brainchild of one man. Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote a book about the musical, composed the music and lyrics, and even stared in the lead role.

When Lin-Manuel Miranda came across the story of Alexander Hamilton in the biography by Ron Chernow, he likely felt he found a kindred spirit. Drawing parallels to his own past as the son of a Puerto Rican and a New Yorker at heart, Miranda expertly explored modern America in the context of historical Americawhile playing the title role.
