Apple Music Vs Spotify: Content And Recommendations
When it comes to music content libraries, theres no beating Apple Music. With over 60 million songs, youll be sure to find music from the artists you love, and from artists you have yet to discover. Moreover, Apple Music is well-known for making exclusive deals with artists like Drake and Taylor Swift for early content releases. This is exclusive content is due in large part to Apples paid-only service users are required to have a paid subscription after the three-month free trial. On top of the exclusive content, users have access to many on-demand radio shows, including Beats1.
While Apple Music may have more content, Spotifys music catalog is still extensive with over 50 million songs, with around 40,000 being added every day. Unlike Apple Music, Spotify also offers podcasts, with over 700,000 currently on the platform. Over the years, Spotify has been diversifying its content library to become the ultimate audio streaming application, which is why the company has gone to great lengths to secure big-name podcasters like Joe Rogan.
Apple Music Vs Youtube Music
YouTube Music replaced as Googles premier music streaming service, and its an excellent alternative for Android users. Like Spotify, it offers a free ad-supported tier for all music, while Apple Music sticks to premium paid subscriptions.

As for paid subscriptions, pricing is virtually identical for the three platforms. However, YouTube Music is included in a YouTube Premium subscription, which also eliminates ads on YouTube videos for $12 a month. This is a great deal if you watch a lot of YouTube videos and cant stand advertising interruptions.
But where YouTube Music really shines is when you want to listen to obscure music. No other service has the same variety of remixes, mixtapes, and older songs. It also has the uncanny ability to recommend songs that no one has heard of but somehow fit your musical taste perfectly.
Premier: $30 Per Month
Premier is where things get really interesting. Here Apple adds more services, notably Apple News and Apple Fitness+ , plus a big bump to iCloud storage. This bundle is best for those already deeply invested in Apple products. If you depend on an iPhone for calls, do your work on a Mac, wear an Apple Watch when working out, and check your iPad for news updates, this plan could be for you. Lets break it down:
- Apple Music Family version
- Apple TV+
- Apple Arcade
- 2TB of iCloud Storage
- Apple News+
- Apple Fitness+

What’s In The Apple One Premier Plan
Apple One’s Premier plan is the only tier that adds more services alongside the same Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and iCloud storage. The iCloud storage is now 2TB, which would separately cost you $9.99 per month. And Apple Music is the family sharing edition.
You can’t switch that off, though. You can’t switch back to having Apple Music just for you, nor can you cut down the iCloud storage if you don’t want that.
Similarly, you have no option to cut back on the extra services. Apple One Premier plan adds Apple News+, and Apple Fitness+. Again, it also lets you share all of them with up to five other people.
The question is whether you want Apple News+ and Apple Fitness+. Bought separately, both are $9.99 per month, although Fitness+ has that annual option which reduces the per month fee to about $6.70.
Apple One Premier plan costs $29.95 per month. To make that worthwhile, then you need to use and want at least three of the services.
If one of those is the $14.99 family version of Apple Music, then you could want just Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade. This time it would come in at 3 cents less to buy them separately, but only that, and there’s got to be more than 3 cents worth of value to you in the other services.
Similarly, if you use Apple Music family version and just one of the other $9.99 services, you’re out 2 cents by buying the bundle. But if all you want is two of the $9.99 services, you’d be $9.97 better off buying them separately.
How Does Apple One Work

- Charged monthly
- Cancel any time
- 30-day free trial
Apple One works similarly to other bundle subscriptions like Amazon Prime and . Users are charged once a month for the entire package they’re subscribed to and can access the apps/services on any device that supports them.
You’ll be able to change your subscription whenever you want if you ever decide to upgrade or downgrade to another tier. Users still get a 30-day free trial for services that they haven’t tried yet, as well.
One other thing to consider when deciding on which plan to use: the Family and Premier plans allow users to add up to six other people to their subscription. The Individual plan doesn’t allow any, although you could just share a single username.

Spotify Vs Apple Music: Which One Is Better
Posted by Dean Heckscher02/03/2022
Music is one of those things thats so crucial to many, with a tune, melody or the sultry tones of that one artist enough to turn your whole day around. But when it comes to accessing music, the world is our oyster, with no shortage of music streaming services available for us to choose from, but are they all worth using? Two of the titans of the music streaming industry Spotify and Apple Music are seemingly always at odds with each other, looking to market themselves as the go-to option for both casual listeners and music fiends, but how do they really stack up against each other, and which one is the best? Compare Spotify and Apple Music with this Canstar Blue guide.
How To Choose Which Apple One Plan Is Best For You
Apple Music subscribers may have the most to gain from Apple One.
If you already subscribe to at least a couple of Apple’s services, switching to Apple One could potentially save you some money or get you some extra services for the same price. Bundling the services together could also make them easier to keep track of — you only have to pay one monthly price instead of a bunch of different ones. It is aimed at getting you into Apple’s growing subscription ecosystem, however, and keeping you from leaving.
Apple Music Family Plan subscribers may stand to benefit the most — if you’re already paying $15 a month, you might as well also wrap in Apple TV Plus, Apple Arcade and some iCloud storage for the same price . There have also been rumors that Apple Music subscribers may get a free upgrade to Apple One, but that hasn’t been confirmed by Apple yet.

The biggest issue I see so far is that the amount of iCloud storage space offered in the Individual and Family plans isn’t enough for anyone who stores lots of photos, videos or documents, or backs up their phone frequently. A better plan would include a baseline of 250GB of storage, bumping up to 1TB for a family and 2TB for premier. While you can pay to add on extra iCloud storage to the two lower-tier plans, the way they’re set up now seems to be pushing people to go for Premier.

What If I Already Subscribe To One A Service
You may have already signed up to one of the subscription services offered by Apple, so what happens if you then decide to join Apple One? Will you pay twice? No. Apple states that any existing subscriptions will be rolled into and included within the standard Apple One monthly fee.
The only exception is iCloud storage. If you have a larger allocation than the one offered on your tier, then it will require a supplemental purchase outside the Apple One subscription or dropping down to the included amount in the package that tier offers.
How Do I Sign Up For Apple One
If you’re interested in starting a free trial or subscribing to Apple One, you can do so from the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad, or the System Preferences on your Mac.

Spotify or maybe Apple Music? Music streaming industry is growing like never before. We have some big players on the market and even if those streaming services may seem very similar to each other at first sight, they differ. A lot. To help you decide which service to choose, we have created a comparison of those two biggest services.

And if you make a decision to move from Spotify to Apple Music or from Apple Music to Spotify, you can always transfer your playlists with FreeYourMusic!
Theres No Beating Spotify When It Comes To Recommendations
Spotify is well-known by consumers for its ability to recommend songs based on your listening history. Sure, Apple Musics human-curated Stations allow users to discover new music, though it doesnt quite compare to the magic behind Spotifys recommendation algorithms.
At the bottom of every playlist, youll see recommendations for new songs based on whats on your list. You also get custom playlists such as Discover Weekly, which automatically generates hours worth of new music for you to discover based on your listening patterns. Spotify also includes a collection of hand-picked playlists featuring the latest hits, which are automatically reorganized for each user according to their tastes.
The latest version of Apple Music features a dedicated Listen Now tab that is full of song recommendations based on your listening habits. Listen Now replaces the cumbersome design of the old For You page with an interface that is much more streamlinedwhilst bearing a strong resemblance to Spotify apps home page.

Apple Music Vs Amazon Music: Which Is The Best Music App
Its close, but right now Apple Music just offers a little bit more of what we want from a music streaming app than Amazon Music Unlimited. This is the case even if youre already an Amazon Prime subscriber: the $2 monthly discount doesnt hurt, but if you treat the Prime subscription itself as a sunk cost, an extra $24 per year isnt exactly going to pay off the house.
Obviously, Unlimited isnt the only option, and Amazon Musics free tier will naturally be a better fit than Apples subscription-only model for those whose budgets are beyond tight. But if youre facing a choice of which to spend on, Apple Music wins out, especially if youve got the hardware to take advantage of spatial audio.
How Much Can You Save From An Apple One Subscription

Despite Apple One not being offered as a yearly subscription, you get savings on each pricing tier. But how much does each plan let you save?
If you are diving into the standard Individual plan, you can save about $6 monthly. It is the best deal out of everything offered, but only if you are used to subscribing to services individually or interested in just one or two of those in the first place.
Going for the Family plan, meanwhile, will let you save $8 per month. The base subscriptions are no different from the previously discussed tier. However, it does unlock access for up to six family members. The savings are even more worth it if you divide the cost among your family or friends. Moreover, the plan expands your iCloud storage significantly, allowing you to get rid of almost all physical storage solutions.
The savings jump dramatically to $25 monthly if you opt for the Premier plan. The said tier unlocks two other services and an overwhelming amount of iCloud storage. Honestly, it is a great deal if you are truly using all of Apples services. The cost of Apple Fitness+ is greatly discounted through it and makes the Apple One subscription worth it.

Youll Appreciate That Extra Cloud Storage
This might be the least-mentioned upside of an Apple One subscription, but youll absolutely appreciate having the extra iCloud storage that comes with it .
For those whove opted for iPhones with smaller internal storage sizes, having the bonus iCloud storage can be a lifesaver especially if you take plenty of photos and videos, or simply find yourself always running low on space on your device.
Also, we shouldnt forget that with camera technology on Apple smartphones now allowing for insanely detailed and refined photography and videography, file sizes can also become overwhelmingly huge storage hogs.
Spotify Vs Apple Music: Features
While the focus is generally on what tunes are available in the content library, having a few extras available can help your experience a bit more enjoyable. Spotify offers a number of auto-generated playlists, including its Daily Mix, Made for You, Discover Weekly and Release Radar, in addition to giving you the ability create collaborative playlists with your friends to curate the perfect playlist. Spotify is also available on gaming platforms such as Xbox and PlayStation, and is already installed on a number of Smart TV brands, making it much more accessible for users to jump into a playlist. And who can argue against the social media juggernaut that is Spotify Wrapped, which gives you an overview of a full years worth of listening.
Apple Music offers a number of features, including curated playlists similar to Spotifys Daily Mix offerings, along with a number of radio stations to give you an option if youre after something different. Apple Music allows you to share playlists over AirDrop, but doesnt currently let you create a collaboratively playlist. You can alternatively tune into the Listen Now playlist, which gives you new music recommendations based on your current tunes.

What Itunes Match Offers
Unlike Apple Music, iTunes Match has no music subscription aspect â the $24.99 a year cost is solely for activating and maintaining your iCloud Music Library.
iTunes Match lets its users match up to 100,000 songs from their iTunes library to the DRM-free iTunes Store catalog these tracks can then be streamed or downloaded to up to 10 of your other devices. Purchased iTunes content doesn’t count toward that 100,000 song limit, nor do they need to be uploaded because Apple has the track on its servers already.
Note: Your iCloud Music Library doesn’t count toward your iCloud storage, as your Photo Library does it’s only based on the number of songs, rather than gigabytes.
Here’s a quick explanation between the different kinds of content stored in iCloud Music Library:
Matched, uploaded, and purchased tracks reside in iCloud Music Library, Apple’s cloud-based music locker. Users can stream or download these tracks from iCloud Music Library to any of their 10 devices as long as their iTunes Match subscription remains active downloaded tracks will either show up as a 256kbps matched DRM-free AAC file or an AAC-converted file of tracks you uploaded on devices other than the Mac or PC from which tracks were uploaded. If you uploaded music in WAV, ALAC, or AIFF formats, then they will remain in those formats on the Mac or PC from which they were uploaded.
Is Apple One Worth It
While the service undoubtedly offers savings over each subscription, it is another matter of whether or not its worth it. Even if youve already bought into the Apple ecosystem of devices and services, you may not need or want every service available.
Of whats on offer, the most essential service is iCloud, which costs a whopping $1 a month for the 50GB on the individual plan. Bumping that up to $3 a month gets you 200GB, which is still a tiny fraction of the overall subscription fee.
Music and TV Plus are also great for entertainment buffs, but neither is truly essential. Music can reasonably be replaced by ad-supported services like Spotify or , and if the ads are too much, the paid plans cost the same as Music. The video streaming service TV Plus is growing, but its still not as robust as rivals Netflix and Hulu.
Arcade is a solid choice if you like mobile games, but it isnt a replacement for AAA games on a console, PC, or even cloud gaming platform.

Ultimately, the standard subscription is only really worth it if you already subscribe or are interested in subscribing to every service offered. This represents a savings of about $6 a month, which is a bit more than a standalone subscription to Arcade or TV Plus.
The family plan will save you about $8 a month. Still, since the base subscriptions for Arcade and TV Plus already include multiple family members, youre really paying for more Music users and a bit more iCloud storage.
