Iphone Owners Soon To Enjoy Apple Music On Windows

People who own iPhones but not a Mac computer will soon be able to access popular Apple services much more easily. Microsoft has quietly revealed that Apple TV Plus and Apple Music will get their own Windows 11 apps in the near future, and the iCloud app is being updated to play nicely with Windows Photos software.

This is a big deal for iPhone owners who prefer Windows because while all of Apples services work seamlessly on macOS, for the most part, they can only be accessed on through a web browser on a Windows-based computer.

That will all change, starting this year, Microsoft says, beginning with the integration of iCloud and the Photos app in November. Its seamless, just install the iCloud for Windows app from the Microsoft Store and choose to sync your iCloud Photos, Panos Panay, Microsofts Chief Product Officer, wrote in a blog post predominantly about its new Surface devices.

Given iCloud was one of the few Apple services already available on Windows, this is a relatively minor update, but the other announcements arent. Both Apple Music and Apple TV Plus will arrive as Windows apps next year, saving subscribers from having to access their shows and tunes via a web browser, or through third-party apps like Cider.

Microsofts other big platform the Xbox is also getting a boost. While Apple TV Plus was already available, Apple Music has just arrived and is free to download right now.

Just About Anything Would Be Better Than Itunes On A Pc But Cider Does More Than Beat Apple’s Horrible First

A new Apple Music client called Cider recently launched on Windows through the Microsoft Store. The app provides an alternative to the much-hated iTunes and the Apple Music web interface. At first glance, Cider may appear like a web wrapper, but after spending some time with the app, it’s clear that the developers added quite a bit of functionality to the application. It supports audio customization, themes, and a long list of other features that show promise.

I hadn’t used Apple Music before this review, so I took time to try the service from Apple’s own offering as well as the third-party client Cider. The review period served as a chance to check out a promising third-party client and to remind me of how terrible iTunes is on Windows.

    Apple Music subscription options:

Cider is still in alpha, so we’ll skip scoring for now. If the app builds off its strong start and is released in a stable state, I foresee it earning high marks, potentially joining the best music apps for Windows.

Music For Xbox Is Here Now Music And Tv For Windows Will Come Later

by Samuel Axon – Oct 12, 2022 8:05 pm UTC

Today, Microsoft and Apple announced a number of deeper integrations of Apple services on both Windows PCs and Xbox game consoles, including Music and TV apps for both platforms and the ability to browse your iCloud Photo Library within the Windows 11 Photos app.

The Apple Music app for Xbox is already available. Existing users can download the app and start listening to their playlists and stations, while new users can sign up for a one-month trial. The user interface for Apple Music on the Xbox is almost exactly the same as the one we’ve used before on Apple TV hardware. It doesn’t add any new features we haven’t seen before, but it’s nice to see parity between the platforms.

The Music and TV apps for Windows aren’t available yet, but the companies say they’ll both be available next year. It was already possible to access both Apple Music and Apple TV+ through web interfaces on Windows. Further, the iTunes app currently lives on in Windows.

The Windows iTunes app lets users listen to songs and watch TV and movies purchased through Apple’s online store. Even though Apple Music will arrive on Windows, iTunes will continue to be available, and users will still be able to access Podcasts and Books there.

Apple has greatly expanded the platforms its various apps and services have been available on in recent years. There were already Apple TV apps available for the Xbox and PlayStation, for example.

What You Need To Know Before Getting Started

Importing your music is probably one Apple Music feature you probably didn’t know about. However, there are a few things that you’ll need before adding your music to your Apple Music library. If you have a Windows PC, you’ll need to download iTunes from Apple’s official website and install it. If you’re a Mac user, you’ll have Apple Music pre-installed on your Mac. If not, you can download it from the App Store.

You should have your music files in MP3 and M4A format. You can convert your FLAC files to MP3 if you need to.

Once all that’s ready, you’re all set to start importing your music to Apple Music. The process is similar mainly on Mac and Windows, and only a few options differ.

What Is Lossless Audio

Lossless audio compression reduces the original file size of a song while preserving all of the data perfectly. Apple Music is making its entire catalog of more than 90 million songs available in lossless audio at different resolutions. In Apple Music, Lossless refers to lossless audio up to 48kHz, and Hi-Res Lossless refers to lossless audio from 48kHz to 192kHz. Lossless and Hi-Res Lossless files are very large and use much more bandwidth and storage space than standard AAC files. Lossless audio is not available with Apple Music Voice Plan.

Apple Music Apple Tv And Icloud Photos Integration Coming To Windows

Microsoft today announced that dedicated Apple Music and Apple TV apps will be available on Windows devices next year. The company also announced that iCloud Photos integration is coming to the Photos app on Windows 11 devices later this year.

The standalone Apple Music and Apple TV apps will provide a much improved experience for Windows users who use these services. Currently, Windows users must access the Apple TV+ streaming service on the web at, while Apple Music is available on the web or within the antiquated iTunes for Windows app. Microsoft said previews of both apps will be available on the Microsoft Store starting later this year.

As spotted earlier today, the Apple Music app also launched on the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One today, allowing subscribers to listen to music in the background while gaming. Apple Music launched on the PlayStation 5 last year.

Listen To Apple Music On Pc With Cider

Apple Music Electron has reached the end of development. The developer has moved to the development of another Apple Music client called Cider. Cider is still a new project in alpha stages. As such, you can expect crashes. It also does not have any features yet beyond letting you stream Apple Music. Cider is currently available for a price on the Microsoft Store and for free on GitHub.

    Cider: Should You Get It

iTunes 12.3.3 Latest Version Setup 32 Bit 64 Bit

Answering this question is complicated since Cider is an app for streaming audio. If you’re the type of person that just wants to click a button and listen to your playlists, albums, and radio stations, the Apple Music Web player or shudder iTunes, will work. A beautiful interface, customizable look, lyrics, and many of Cider’s features won’t matter to people who only play music in the background.

But even for those that never plan to look at Cider, the app has features that make it worth it, such as audio equalization and normalization. Cider also integrates better with Windows 11 than alternatives, allowing you to control playback using a mini player.

Cider offers a free trial, so I’d suggest anyone that uses Apple Music on their PC at least gives the app a try. The more you explore through the app’s settings, the more you’ll discover what it can do. Between the app’s native features and its support for plugins, it’s an impressively versatile music player.

Launch Apple Music In Web Browser

While there isnt an official Apple Music app on Windows, you can stream your Apple Music from the web. Apple Music supports Firefox as well as Chromium-based browsers. Those are pretty much the only two practical browser choices on Windows. So, regardless of which browser you use, you should be able to listen to Apple Music on Windows.

Note: The web app does not support downloads or lossless audio.

    Visit: Apple Music Web Player

If youre using a Chromium-based browser, such as Chrome or Edge, you can also install Apple Music as a web app. Keep in mind, though, that the Apple Music web player is not a PWA . So, installing it does not add anything to the functionality of the web app. But you do get Apple Music in a separate Window like you would with a desktop app.

  • Open using Google Chrome browser.
  • Select More tools > Create shortcut
  • Check Open as window and click Create. You can also name the app anything you want.
  • This will place an Apple Music web shortcut on your desktop. You can pin it to the taskbar or the start menu.
