Leading the nominees this year is Brown, who picked up four nominations including video of the year, male video of the year and CMT performance of the year.
Trailing him with three nominations each are co-host Ballerini, Mickey Guyton, BRELAND and Cody Johnson, with the latter two artists each notching their very first CMT nominations.

This year’s awards will feature the first televised performance in over two decades from legendary duo The Judd. Other can’t-miss collaborations include Aldean and Adams, Morris and Ryan Hurd, Thomas Rhett and Riley Green, and Jimmie Allen with Little Big Town and Monica.

On the day of the live telecast, Ballerini announced that she had tested positive for COVID-19. She was asymptomatic, and said she would be able to co-host and perform from her home, with help from CMT and CBS.Kane Brown, who hosted last year’s ceremony with Ballerini, would step in and shared the main stage with Mackie as a co-host.

Kane Brown, Kelsea Ballerini and Anthony Mackie are set to host the 2022 CMT Awards from Nashville
Kelsea Ballerini announced she’d be hosting the CMT Music Awards from home Monday night after contracting COVID-19.
Ballerini shared the news with fans on Instagram.
“All right friends, I have some bad news, and I have some good news,” Ballerini said in a video. “The bad news is that a couple of days ago I tested positive for COVID, and the CMT Awards are tonight, so unfortunately I cannot be there in person anymore.”
The country music star is set to perform her new single, “Heartfirst.” However, the performance will now happen from Ballerine’s home.
“The incredible CMT team and my team have bought part of the CMT set to my house, to my little bubble, and set it up to where I can still host and perform,” Ballerini revealed. “It is certainly not what we had expected or planned for, but we are doing our damn best. … Let’s make some lemonade together out of these very bitter lemons.
“The CMT Music Awards team and CBS tapped leading nominee Kane Brown to step in alongside Anthony Mackie from Nashville.
Brown has previously hosted the award show twice.

The 2022 CMT Music Awards are back and will broadcast live on a new channel and at a new location.
Earlier today , CMT released a statement to let fans worldwide know that country musics only entirely fan-voted awards show has been given a new airdate of Monday, April 11, 2022 and will be three-hours long.
Along with the new date, the show will move from the Bridgestone Arena to Nashvilles historic Municipal Auditorium, with performances taking place at various locations in and around Music City.
The original date of April 11 was postponed earlier last month due to The 68th Annual Grammy Awards taking the CMT Music Awards original date, as there were safety concerns revolving around the increase of Omicron variant cases around the world.
Fans, artists and CMT officials are happy to see the show rescheduled. Executive Producers Margaret Comeaux, John Hamlin and Leslie Fram released a joint statement voicing their excitement for the event.
